Professional Highlights:

·       Associate Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery : Saint Paul Hospital Millennium Medical College, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

·       Head of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Unit: Oversees one of Ethiopia’s two residency programs in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery—a critical role in shaping the nation’s surgical landscape.

·       Fellow of COSECSA: In 2018, Dr. Metasebia Abebe achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first female Plastic Surgeon from Ethiopia to earn fellowship status with the College of Surgeons of East, Central, and Southern Africa (COSECSA).

Advocacy and Impact:

·       Dr.Metasebia’s passion extends beyond the operating room. She champions global surgery and equitable access to safe surgical and anesthesia care. Through advocacy and education, she strives to elevate surgical services across Ethiopia, reaching far beyond Addis Ababa.
