Update: Graeme Perks

18th January 2021

The British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons is pleased to report our colleague and past President Graeme Perks is stable, albeit still seriously ill in hospital.

Plastic surgery is an honourable discipline spanning centuries, whose mission is one of healing and restoration, of both form and function. Graeme Perks is a shining and inspirational example of our profession particularly in his area of specialist interest in the holistic care and major multidisciplinary reconstructive surgery of patients suffering from all types of cancer.

We have nothing but praise and gratitude for our colleagues who are caring for him at this time and we continue to extend our support to his family and friends.

We are deeply saddened by the suggestion that a member of the plastic surgery community may have been involved in these tragic events.

As before, we entreat our colleagues to not engage in speculation or hearsay - which would be a disservice to Graeme - and to direct any and all media enquiries via our Press Office
