You may be aware that several changes have been made to the old ‘National Clinical Excellence Award’ scheme. This has been rebranded the ‘National Clinical Impact Awards’ and applications are due to open on
27 April.
If you are interested in applying for an award (this is open to Consultants working in England and Wales), further information can be found on the
ACCIA website.
Single Level Application Process
The revamped scheme offers what will hopefully be an easier application process- the gold/silver/bronze/platinum application system has been removed and there is now a single-level application system- the level of the award is based on the score received from the application process.
No Renewals
Awards are held for five years, at which point you can apply again for a new award
Support/Citation
You can only be supported by one ‘national nominating organisation’. You have the option to nominate two NNOs so if you are not selected by one, you still have a chance to be nominated by a second. The number of NNOs has been reduced significantly this year, though BAPRAS is still an NNO and able to support up to 6 applications.
If you would like to request BAPRAS’ support for your application, please contact us by
16 May.
