Carpue Keegan Award - BAPRAS & IAPS International Travel Bursary

The Carpue Keegan Award supports plastic surgery trainees in gaining world-class international experience. This award funds extended overseas placements, helping the next generation of plastic surgeons develop skills and perspectives that will benefit both their careers and their patients.
  

The Award

One award of up to £25,000 is available per round. Funds are allocated at the discretion of BAPRAS and IAPS.

Key conditions of the award:

  • The bursary is intended to further the international education and skills of the awardee

  • The placement must be outside the UK or Republic of Ireland and last a minimum of six months

  • Preference will be given to trainees travelling without other financial awards

  • Candidates seeking funds for paid positions abroad will be considered less favourably

  
Eligibility

To apply, you must be:

  • A Specialist Registrar in years 4–6 enrolled on a recognised training programme with the Specialist Advisory Committee in Plastic Surgery

  • A current Member of BAPRAS and IAPS
