BAPRAS Deanery Challenge 2024

Following the success of last year's inaugural Deanery Challenge, we are thrilled to announce the second edition of this exciting competition, taking place at the BAPRAS Congress 2024 in Wales this December.

To represent your deanery at this year's competition, email secretariat@bapras.org.uk with the names of your team members ( two pre-exam trainees, plus one reserve) along with the name of the deanery you are representing. 

THE DEANERY CHALLENGE 2023: A RECAP

Inspired by the ICOPLAST Trainee Olympiad in Dubai, PLASTA and BAPRAS joined forces to create a national competition that saw 10 deaneries battling it out in a test of knowledge and quick thinking. The event featured rapid-fire questions, instrument identification, a music round, and even a "name that Plastic surgery celebrity" segment. The competition was fierce, with Mersey ultimately claiming victory and the coveted Deanery Challenge Cup.

CALL FOR TEAM REGISTRATIONS

We invite all deaneries to submit their teams for this year's challenge. Here's what you need to know:

Team Composition:
Each deanery should submit a team of two trainees (pre-exam) plus one reserve.

Eligibility:
Open to all plastic surgery trainees.

Registration Deadline:
Thursday 31st October

COMPETITION FORMAT

The challenge will consist of several heats, where teams will face off in a buzzer-style quiz. Questions will cover both general knowledge and FRCS(Plast) topics. The fastest team to buzz in gets the chance to answer and prove their expertise. Winning teams from each heat will progress to the final stage, to be held after Wednesday evening's drinks reception at the congress.
