Simon Eccles is a craniofacial plastic surgeon and was appointed a consultant at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in 2006. He was subsequently appointed to Great Ormond St Children’s Hospital, and has been consultant there since 2019. He is doubly qualified and trained as a dentist at the Royal London Hospital.

He was the clinical director of children’s services at Chelsea from 2010 to 2015, and has had national roles within the children’s surgery clinical reference group, representing London, and the London Strategic clinical network. 

He is a past President of the Plastic surgery section of the Royal Society of Medicine. He is currently the chair of the Professional Standards Committee at BAPRAS (British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons).

He is a former trustee and surgeon with the charity ‘Facing the World’, and has been involved in several overseas missions to Vietnam, as well as treating children from around the world with facial deformities.
