Originally from Birmingham, Mr Allison now lives in Guisborough, North Yorkshire. He did his medical training in Sheffield and then Basic Surgical Training took him to Stoke on Trent as the then Pilot National Trauma Centre, achieving his general surgical fellowship (FRCS Eng). He returned to the West Midlands to continue his career in burns and plastic surgery. He was also a pre-hospital (BASICS) trauma care doctor working for West Midlands Ambulance Service for which he received a Queen’s Jubilee medal. Mr Allison also co-owned an Events Medical Services company running hospital and first aid facilities at events ranging from motorsports to music festivals. He completed a clinical research / doctorate in the medical application of lasers. Prior to taking up his consultant post, he gained additional training in microsurgery and oncology reconstruction in Toronto, Canada. He was one of the first plastic surgeons in the UK to undergo a formal aesthetic / cosmetic surgery training at the McIndoe Surgical Centre, East Grinstead.
For 12 years Mr Allison ran a Cosmetic Surgery practice in Teesside. He performed facial, nose and eyelid rejuvenation surgery, breast surgery and body contouring surgery. From May 2017, he established a Medicolegal practice to include personal injury and medical negligence work. In conjunction with this he stopped his private practice after following patients through to their discharge from care. He now provides expert witness advice and reports for the GMC, Medical Defense Organizations and legal firms. He has been awarded the Bond Solon / Cardiff University Business School training certificate (2018).
